Leavenworth Mill Dam

Client: Recreation Engineering & Planning for the County of Chelan

Leavenworth, WA | 2022

LVB provided a conceptual site rendering for rehabilitating a mill dam ruin on the Wenatchee River in Washington State. The project includes removing a portion of the rock-filled spillway and creating a drop feature for paddlers.

Other river recreation enhancements include an improved beach and tuber exit upstream of the dam as the final destination of the Wenatchee’s popular float run.

Aquatic habitat improvements include the reconstruction of a rock riffle for fish passage improvements and a new backwater wetland habitat carved out of the floodplain for fish-rearing habitat.
