Wolf Run Trail Interpretive Signage Design

Client: Wolf Run Association

Mazomanie, WI | 2015

In 2015, Lauren was commissioned by the local non-profit Wolf Run Association to design a series of interpretive panels telling the story of a multi-year and multi-stakeholder project to restore two miles of Black Earth Creek and a multi-use recreational trail along its trout-laden length.

Lauren designed and directed the fabrication of the kiosk trailhead panels and three free-standing interpretive signage displays along the trail. Ecological and historical signage themes showcase Black Earth Creek’s spring-fed trout stream ecology, the history and importance of the milldam to the development of the town, and the generous creation of a conservation easement by a local landowner to create a safe and beautiful public recreational trail along the creek corridor.

The signage also acknowledges the dedication of the people and collaborative partnerships that never gave up hope of turning the dream into a built reality.
